The business side, in one place
Most drone companies run on a calendar, a pricing spreadsheet, QuickBooks, a notes app full of gate codes and a lot of texting. That's fine until you get busy. Then a quote sits for a week, a shoot gets rained out without anyone telling the client, and an invoice goes unpaid because nobody sent it.
DroneCRM replaces that pile with one app that knows how drone jobs actually go.
If you're comparing options, our guide to choosing a CRM for a drone business sets out what to check, including what DroneCRM won't do.
- Quotes
- Set your prices once, however you charge: by the acre, by the roof, by the listing or by the hour. Add travel, rush fees and extras, then send a quote the client can sign and put a deposit on from their phone. Signed quotes turn into jobs without any retyping.
- Scheduling
- One calendar for your pilots, aircraft and batteries. Each booking shows the forecast for that site at that hour, so a bad day shows up the evening before instead of when you're already parked on site.
- Airspace and TFRs
- Every booking is checked against controlled airspace and the FAA's temporary flight restrictions, from the day you book it to the morning you fly. If a TFR goes up over a job, you hear about it with a new time already suggested. When a job needs LAANC, DroneCRM lays out everything the request needs and opens the LAANC app you already use, so filing takes a minute. You record the answer, and anything that needs further coordination comes with its 72-hour filing deadline.
- Client email
- Connect Gmail or Outlook and client emails file themselves under the right job. When someone asks where their photos are, the whole thread is right there.
- The day of the flight
- Address, site contact, gate code, shot list and your preflight checklist, on your phone. Flight time gets logged to the job as you go, which is handy at tax time and when your insurer asks.
- Invoices
- Invoices are built from the quote. Clients pay by card or bank transfer, reminders go out on whatever schedule you pick, and everything syncs to QuickBooks or Xero for your accountant.
- Social posts
- Pick a finished job and DroneCRM drafts a Facebook or Instagram post from the photos. Edit it, schedule it or bin it. It can also email past clients when a site is due for another flight.

Tower, the assistant
Tower is the assistant built into DroneCRM. Every morning it goes through your bookings, the forecast, new TFRs and your inbox, and leaves you a short note about anything that needs a decision. When the fix is an email, it drafts that too. When it's a new LAANC request, it gets the details ready for you to file.
It doesn't send anything without your OK, unless you tell it a certain kind of email can go out on its own (payment reminders, say). LAANC requests are always filed by the pilot in command, in their own LAANC app, and Tower never makes go/no-go calls. That stays with the pilot, which is how the FAA likes it.
Tower comes with the Pro and Fleet plans. TFR alerts and LAANC reminders are on every plan.
Tower, 6:02 this morning
Three flights today, and two of them need to move. A TFR went up overnight for a grass fire north of Georgetown and covers the Brushy Creek site, so I've suggested Monday and have Monday's LAANC request ready for you to file. Wind is light until about 4, then gusts to 24 mph, so the Lakeway twilight shoot is a problem too. Tomorrow evening looks calm, and my note to Dana is below.
Hill Country Roofing still owes $975 from the 17th. Want me to send the usual reminder?
Hi Dana,
The forecast for Lakeway this evening has gusts around 24 mph, which is more than I want to fly in over the water. Friday evening looks calm. Could we move the shoot to Friday at 7:10? You'd still have the photos Monday morning.
Thanks,
Marcus
Works with what you already use
- QuickBooks and Xero
- Clients, invoices and payments sync both ways, so your books stay right without entering anything twice.
- Gmail and Outlook
- Client emails file themselves under the right job, and replies you send from DroneCRM come from your own address.
- Google Calendar
- Bookings show up on your own calendar, and personal events block out time in DroneCRM.
- Stripe
- Clients pay deposits and invoices by card or bank transfer, and the money goes straight to your Stripe account.
- Facebook and Instagram
- Draft, schedule and publish posts from finished jobs to your business pages.
- Your LAANC app
- Jobs in controlled airspace come with the request details ready to paste into the LAANC app you already use. You file it there and record the answer in DroneCRM.
- FAA flight restrictions
- DroneCRM watches the FAA's list of temporary flight restrictions and flags any that touch a booked job.
- DataDelivery™
- Send a job's photos to National Drone Services for maps and 3D models. The finished files and the client's delivery link come back to the job.
Pricing

Questions
- Is there a free trial?
- Yes. You get 14 days with everything in Pro, and you don't need a card to start. If it isn't for you, there's nothing to cancel.
- Can I bring over my clients and past jobs?
- Yes. Import clients from QuickBooks, Xero or a spreadsheet. Past jobs can come in from a spreadsheet too, and if yours is a mess, send it over and we'll sort it out.
- Does it replace QuickBooks?
- No, and it isn't trying to. DroneCRM handles quotes, invoices and payments, then syncs them to QuickBooks or Xero for your books.
- Does it work on my phone?
- Yes. It works in any phone browser, and the flight-day screens are built to be used with one hand in bright sun.
- Does DroneCRM file LAANC requests?
- No, you do, in the LAANC app you already use. When you book a job in controlled airspace, DroneCRM works out what the request needs from the site, the time and the assigned pilot, checks it against the altitude the FAA pre-approves there, and opens your LAANC app with the details ready to paste. You file it and record the answer, and Tower reminds you if you haven't. If a job needs more altitude than the facility map allows, it's flagged for further coordination along with the filing deadline, which is 72 hours before the flight.
- Can I rely on the TFR alerts?
- Treat them as an early warning, not a clearance. DroneCRM checks the FAA's TFR list through the day and re-checks every job the evening before and the morning of, but restrictions can go up minutes before a flight. Keep checking airspace in your LAANC or B4UFLY app as part of your preflight.
- Will Tower send things without asking?
- Not unless you switch that on for a specific kind of email or post. Out of the box it only writes drafts.
- Do I need DataDelivery™?
- No. DroneCRM works on its own. If you already use DataDelivery™, you can connect it from Settings.
